This Villa is a historic 19th century residence and is located in an elegant 19th-20th century neighborhood just a few minutes’ walk from the historic city center of Florence.
Wisely renovated, the Villa has been enhanced over the years as a high-level Bed and Breakfast and a luxury Boutique Hotel.
The style retains the charm of other times and refers to late nineteenth-century atmospheres, when Florence, then the capital of the Kingdom of Italy, became a national and international point of reference. In those years foreign groups and communities grew in the city – among the most active and lively the English and Anglo-Saxons and then the Russians – which ended up settling in Florence and contributing to the flourishing of a markedly cosmopolitan culture.
Arranged on three floors for around 400 square meters, the Villa has been renovated respecting the original architectural features.
Its marked refinement and elegance is evident right from the entrance: high ceilings, refined stuccos, period furnishings and tapestries immerse us in the typical atmospheres and styles of late Romanticism; the
large windows ensure a completely natural interior brightness. Finishes and furnishings are of great luxury: parquet floors, Empire-style furniture and furnishings and upholstery with fine fabrics.
On the ground floor, in the large airy entrance – now used as a reception – the majestic stone staircase that rises to the upper levels stands out. On the ground floor there are also a kitchen, pantry, bathroom, laundry room, technical room, utility room and a first wide bedroom with a large bathroom. At this level this bedroom allows direct access to a lovely private outdoor space for the exclusive use of the room itself.
On the first of the two upper floors, there is the amazing large breakfast room of 50 square meters: very high ceilings, late-romantic style furnishings and an excellent brightness, thanks to the large windows overlooking the garden.
On the same floor there are the first 2 bedrooms, each with its ensuite bathroom. Another 3 bedrooms are available on the second floor.
The truly unique feature is their sizes ranging from 20 up to 35 square meters, these rooms have no comparison between the accommodations in Florence (and also in many other cities). They are furnished with elegance and refinement and are equipped with functional features to enjoy a relaxing stay and maximum comfort: king size beds, large bathrooms with extra-large showers or English-style bathtubs, air conditioning, TV, minibar, safe.
The size of each bathroom is consistently similar to that of the rooms and can reach up to 15 square meters: huge and bright, they shine in their pure white Carrara marble cladding, comfortable and equipped with independent heating and thermo-furnishings.
Wi-Fi internet connection is guaranteed in all rooms.
The Villa enjoys a private area surrounded by greenery with access to the private garden and a convenient internal parking for two vehicles. All for about 260 square meters.
Close to the historic center.
The Villa is in a strategic position with respect to the main places of cultural interest in Florence: from here you can easily reach Il Museo dell’ Accademia (where the original David of Michelangelo is kept), the traditional San Lorenzo market and the Santa Maria Novella Railway Station. A few more minutes and you reach Piazza del Duomo and the magnificent doors of the Baptistery and, then, again Piazza della Signoria, Piazza della Repubblica and via Tornabuoni, where the most celebrated Italian fashion brands are located.
The neighborhood that welcomes the Villa is quiet and safe even for those who want to return late at night. It is, in itself, interesting to explore: around the corner there is Piazza della Vittoria with its centuries-old pines and a little further away the splendid parks of Villa Stibbert and the Giardino dell’Orticoltura, the annual meeting point of the famous “Flowers Festival”.
Logistics is indeed efficient: shops, schools, cafes, artisan shops, restaurants, pastry shops and bakeries make the neighborhood pleasant to live in. Not far away, however, history and contemporaneity meet within the mighty walls of the Medici Fortress, where trade fairs and artistic events of the most important and avant-garde are held every year.
Logistics and transport.
The Central Railway Station of Santa Maria Novella is just under 2 km away. In the same area there is the Tramvia Station which leads in 20 minutes directly to the Amerigo Vespucci City-Airport.
Connections with Pisa International Airport are also facilitated by trains that depart approximately every 15-20 minutes from the central station of Santa Maria Novella and by the regular bus service that arrives at their destination in approximately 1 hour.
The sale does not include paintings and some pieces of furniture.
